Anyone Can Juggle!

In a recent study conducted at the University of Hamburg, juggling was used as a learning task to compare brain plasticity (the changing of the brain that occurs during learning) between young and old people.  The study found that similar brain growth is found in both young and old people, showing that learning new tasks can be accomplished regardless of how old you are.  (You can teach an old dog new tricks!)

I've been juggling outside in Dragon Park and Centennial Park a lot this summer.  Quite often, kids will come up to us and want to learn to juggle.  Less often will adults try to learn, perhaps because they think they are too old to learn.  I've always said that anyone can learn to juggle, and this study supports this claim.  If you see any of us juggling around town, we're always willing to teach!*

Nashville's Got Talent

A bunch of us got together after juggling last night to watch sword swallower Dan Meyer (Executive Director of Sword Swallowers Association International, CEO and owner of Cutting Edge Innertainment, and one of the original members of Music City Jugglers) on America's Got Talent.  Dan amazed the crowd and two of the judges.  Apparently, Hasselhoff couldn't stomach watching Dan and made the assumption that America wouldn't either.  Thankfully, the other two judges loved him, and he's on to the next round!

In addition to Dan, we also spotted a brief shot of Fiona from Hooprama (and star of Juggleville 3!) at one of the auditions.  The Nashville Juggling community is making its rounds on national TV!

Website Launch

Welcome to Nashville Juggling!  I've been sitting on this domain for a few months now, and finally started putting the site together yesterday.

This site is all about bringing together jugglers (and other related skills and arts) in the Middle Tennessee area.  This summer has been a great one for juggling in and around Nashville!  Take a look around the events and directory.  If you'd like to be listed, please contact the appropriate email addresses found in each section.
